I would be reviewing season two in this post, as I honestly preferred it to the first one.

“The circle USA” is a reality TV show streaming on Netflix, the second season was released on April 14th 2021 and the finale was dropped on May 5th 2021. The series is based on a British TV show by the same name.

In this show, the players are confined to their apartments and can only socialize with each other by using “The Circle", a computer program that transcribes their messages into text. The game can be played using your real identity or by being a catfish. In order to win the $ 100,000 grand prize, contestants have to rate each other, play scandalous little games, and obviously create alliances.

I enjoyed watching this reality TV Show and found its concept unique. In this era of advanced technology, where almost everybody has an online presence, judging and interacting with others solely based on your online interactions with them is fascinating. 'The Circle' indirectly shows us the simplicity with which we can manipulate reality on the internet. After realising this as Chloe, a participant in the show, would say, “ My mind is boggled.”

Furthermore, it was fun to watch the players play mind games and execute their schemes. The cast of season 2 was really entertaining and funny. One thing that I disliked though, was the introduction of new players later on in the game. The latecomers entered the game when the other players had already formed and created strong bonds with each other, therefore, I feel, those people didn't receive an equal opportunity to win the game. Despite this the show was interesting and a delight to watch. It's kind of show to watch when you want to just switch-off and relax.
